On September 27, 2019, a solemn ceremony took place at the National Opera of Ukraine before the opera ‘Faust,’ marking the handover of modern multimedia projectors – a grant aid from the government of Japan within the framework of the Cultural Project Support Program ‘KUSANONE.’

The procurement and delivery of the equipment were carried out by the Charity Fund ‘Velyka rodyna’. The involvement of a non-governmental public organization in the grant utilization was a requirement of the ‘KUSANONE’ program. The work was conducted in accordance with the terms of the Grant Contract between the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the Fund under the supervision of auditors. The employees of the ‘Velyka Rodyna’ worked on a voluntary basis, considering their efforts as a charitable contribution to the development of national culture and art.

Thanks to the grant assistance, the National Opera of Ukraine received a Panasonic PT-RZ21 laser projector with a brightness of 20,000 lm, and two Panasonic PT-RZ120 laser projectors with a brightness of 12,000 lm each. This grant is part of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA). Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Japan has provided Ukraine with assistance totaling more than 3.1 billion USD.
